White-label AI

An AI product one company builds and another business offers under its own name, inside its own app, school, or venue.

What parents should know

White-label AI is someone else's model wearing a familiar brand. The logo your child trusts may not be the company that stores the chats. Ask who built it, who can read the transcripts, and whether children's data trains a model. The brand on the screen is not the privacy policy.

What is white-label AI?

A white-label deal lets a business put its name on a product another company operates. Museums, youth programs, tutoring centers, and apps do this to ship faster. The family sees the partner. The data relationship may sit with the builder, the partner, or both. The contract is the only honest map.

White-label is not the same as a simple integration or a link out to a public chatbot. If the assistant lives inside the partner's experience, parents will assume the partner's safety rules apply. Those rules apply only if the agreement copied them in.

Why white-label AI matters

Kids' products fail this test when a trusted brand quietly embeds a general bot with no parent account. The brand gets the trust. The family gets the hidden chat. A buyer should demand the same defaults they would demand from a product with its own name: parent or school as the adult, no ads, no training on children's chats, and a distress path.

HeyOtto's public partnership page is about working with education, safety, and family organizations. It is not a claim that every partner receives a silent rebrand. If you are buying or selling that kind of deal, ask for the data terms in writing.

How it shows up in practice

  • A youth program wants an assistant in its app and asks who owns the transcripts.
  • A contract forbids using student chats to train a general model.
  • Parents see a familiar logo and still get a parent account, not a nameless web view.
  • A partner cannot advertise a safety score the builder did not authorize them to shorten.

How HeyOtto helps

White-label AI is one company's product offered under another organization's name. HeyOtto does not describe a self-serve white-label switch on this page. Organizations that want kid-safe AI for families, schools, or youth programs can talk with HeyOtto about a partnership. Any deal still has to keep the product facts intact: a parent or school adult, ages 8–18 for the family product, no ads, chats not sold, conversations not used to train other models, and Otto not presented as a human.

  • Start at the partners conversation, not at a logo mockup.
  • School deployments stay separate, with teacher and advisor dashboards.
  • Do not let a partner claim a certification HeyOtto does not hold.

FAQs

If I know the brand, do I know the privacy rules?

No. Ask which company stores the chats, whether they are used to train a model, and who can read them. The logo is the relationship. The contract is the rule. HeyOtto's own product facts are published and should not be rewritten by a partner.

Does HeyOtto white-label Otto today?

HeyOtto invites partnerships with organizations that serve families, schools, and youth communities. This glossary does not claim a turnkey white-label product you can switch on without a conversation. Use the partners contact if that is the deal you want to discuss.

What should the contract protect?

Who the account holder is, whether adults can read prompts, a ban on ads and on selling kids' data, a clear line that conversations are not used to train models, and the distress path. If those sentences are missing, the white label is only a logo.

Can a school white-label a student bot?

A school should buy a school deployment with dashboards and a data agreement, not paste a consumer bot into a portal. HeyOtto for Schools is that separate deployment. Ask for the agreement before student work goes in.
