    Schools

The rules for honest schoolwork when AI can write, solve, or summarize, including which help is allowed and which help counts as cheating.

  • Addictive design

    Risks

Product features built to maximize time spent, such as infinite scroll, autoplay, streaks, and notifications that are hard for kids to put down.

  • Age-appropriate design

    Safety & Design

Designing digital products around a child's developmental stage, with high-privacy defaults and no features that exploit how young users think or click.

  • AI

    AI Basics

Software that produces a reply, a prediction, or a piece of media from patterns in data, instead of following only a fixed script a person wrote line by line.

  • AI acceptable use policy (AUP)

    Schools

A school rule that lists which AI uses are allowed, which must be cited, and which are prohibited, written so students and teachers can follow it.

    Risks

An AI app built for ongoing personal talk, like a friend or partner, that can build emotional attachment in kids and teens.

Clearly telling someone they are talking to an AI, or looking at AI-generated content, rather than a human or an unedited recording.

  • AI for kids

    Safety & Design

An AI product shaped for children, with an adult on the account, age-matched replies, and limits a parent can see, rather than a general chatbot.

  • AI for teens

    Safety & Design

AI tools used by teenagers, including homework help and open chat. The adult question is who holds the account and whether a parent can still read it.

  • AI girlfriend or boyfriend
