HeyOtto Launches Passport, Giving Schools One Place to See Every AI Tool Their Students Use

Schools can now keep a single continuous safety record for each student instead of a separate one inside every AI product.

Key Takeaways

  • Schools can point any tool with a custom AI-provider setting at HeyOtto.
  • Each student keeps one identity, one record, and one safety-alert setup across connected tools.

New unified safety layer lets students carry a single identity across AI apps, with one record and one real-time alerts system for schools

Atlanta, GA — Thursday, September 3, 2026 — HeyOtto, the AI platform built for children and trusted by parents, today announced HeyOtto Passport, a unified AI safety layer that lets schools connect the AI-powered tools they already use to a single student identity, a single record, and a single real-time alerts system.

Most schools today run one AI tool, or none. That is changing quickly. Writing assistants, coding tools, creative AI, and AI features built into platforms schools already own mean students will soon use several AI tools in a single school day. Each one arrives with its own accounts, its own safety settings, and its own reporting channel, leaving staff to check multiple dashboards and hope every tool surfaces what matters.

Passport addresses this by letting connected tools recognize each student as an individual. Conversations and activity from every connected tool land in that student's HeyOtto record, and safety alerts route through HeyOtto's real-time alerts, the same system used in the HeyOtto app. Adding a new tool does not mean setting up safety monitoring again.

"Parents and schools both want to know what AI is saying to kids. Passport gives schools AI access and oversight together — one identity, one record, one place to look." said Natalie Gibson, Founder of HeyOtto.

How Passport works

For most tools, connecting is a settings change rather than an integration project. Any application that lets a school choose which AI service it uses can point to HeyOtto, including classroom platforms, chat interfaces, no-code assistant builders, automation platforms, and developer frameworks. Access is granted per student, once, by a school administrator.

Passport also opens a new option for computer science classrooms. Students learning to build with AI can develop against HeyOtto instead of an outside service the school cannot see. Each student receives a key issued by their school administrator and tied to their HeyOtto identity, so what their apps send and receive stays on the student's record under the same real-time alerts.
