What parents should know
AI privacy is the data question. A chat can hold a name, a school, or a photo. Ask who can read it, whether it is sold, and whether it trains a model. A privacy policy is the document. The account is the control you can see.

What is AI privacy?
Privacy here means personal information in the conversation and in the account. Prompts, replies, and optional images can identify a child. A parent-created account, a readable transcript, and a ban on selling that chat are privacy controls. A long policy that nobody can check is not.
Training is a separate question from storage. A service can keep a chat so the parent can read it and still not use that chat to train other models. This page does not state a number of days HeyOtto keeps a transcript. The privacy policy is the place for that sentence.
Why AI privacy matters
Children type things they would not put on a form. If those lines are sold for ads, or used to train a model the family did not choose, the chat was a data collection tool. No ads and no sale are checkable claims. A certification badge is not, unless a named auditor issued it.
Under 13, US law expects a parent in the loop for personal information on many online services. HeyOtto asks for verifiable parental consent as part of setup under 13. That is a product step. It is not a claim that HeyOtto is certified.
