What parents should know
A content filter tries to keep sexual and graphic material out of what a child sees or what a chatbot will say. NSFW is the informal label for that material. A filter is not the same as a full moderation team, and it is not a promise that a determined prompt will always fail. Parents still want a transcript.

What is a content filter?
Filters act on input, output, or both. They can block a category such as explicit sexual content, gore, or a topic a parent turned off. They can be too blunt, hiding a health question, or too loose, missing a slang spelling. Kids compare notes on what gets through. This page will not list those tricks.
Content moderation is the broader system: people, policies, and appeals. A filter is one tool inside it. Topic limits on a family product are a parent-shaped version of the same idea, per child, rather than one global on-switch.
Why a content filter matters
Parents turn a filter on and relax. The better habit is to treat the filter as a first pass. If you can read the chat, you will see what the filter missed and what your child was trying to reach. If you cannot read the chat, the filter is the only story the company is willing to tell you.
