What are tokens?

Tokens are like special points that let you unlock premium creative features on HeyOtto. Your parent's subscription plan gives your family a set number of tokens each month, and you use them to create cool things with Otto — like custom images, storybooks, comic strips, and more.

How many tokens do I get?

Your monthly token allowance depends on your parent's subscription plan:

Important: Tokens don't roll over! Whatever you don't use this month resets on the 1st of next month — so use them before they're gone.

What can kids make with tokens?

Each creative feature costs a different number of tokens:

With a Pro Plan, you could create:

• 1 brand-new Storybook → 10 tokens
• 4 Comic Strips → 20 tokens
• 9 regular Images → 45 tokens

Where can I see my token balance?

When you're chatting with Otto and want to create something, Otto will let you know exactly how many tokens it costs before creating it — so there are no surprises.

You can also ask Otto directly: "How many tokens do I have left?"

For parents: Full family token usage is visible at Settings → Usage in your parent dashboard.

What if I run out of tokens?

Once your tokens are used up, premium creative features will be locked until your allowance resets on the 1st of the next month. Or you can make a one time purchase of a token pack.

For example, if your plan has 500 tokens and you have three children, you might set each child's limit to 150 tokens so no one uses more than their fair share.
